Boss Club is a curriculum provider which is delivered through a learning management system (LMS). Licensees can access Boss Club through purchasing the curriculum and being granted access through our onboarding process. Students and Licensees can access Boss Club through our online portal. Teachers provide Boss Club with basic information allowing for students to receive optional access to the course.
Visitors: IP Addresses, Operating System, Browser Type, and Referring URLs are tracked with our website logs. This information is collected for security purposes and is in no way used to detect the user’s identification.
Licensees: Licensees (usually a school/district/teacher) are required to provide email, first name, last name, city, state, and organization (school/site name). This information is necessary so that we may: 1) send emails for Teacher regarding set up instructions, 2) reply to any questions, 3) send information about new products, updates, etc, and/or 4) send information about other support matters. We do not sell or share any of this information to outside companies for any reason.
Students: Students gain access to secure application servers using a password protected ID provided to them by their Licensee (teacher). We collect information about each Student’s session such as content visited, time on task, and progress through the curriculum. This information is collected and organized to help the Licensee make observations to improve the learning process. To that end, the Licensee may optionally provide Boss Club with student names. These procedures and technologies are to improve the Student learning process and are in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We use student email addresses as their login to our system but Licensees can opt to provide fictitious email addresses to use as their logins for added privacy.
Additional Information: Licensee and Student data is the only information gathered. Once a license expires, this data is archived on Boss Club’s licensed servers in the event the Licensee renews their license in the future and wants access to the stored data. If the Licensee or school/site desires this information to be permanently deleted, the Licensee can email email@example.com and request all data be deleted.
Under age 13: Boss Club requires schools, districts, and/or Licensees (teachers/instructors) (on behalf of the parents or legal guardians of Students under the age of 13) to provide consent for the online collection of personal information of the Student under the age of 13. In order to use Boss Club, Students must gain access credentials provided to them by their teacher (Licensee).
Boss Club collects limited personal information from minor Students only where that Student’s school, district, and/or Licensee has contracted with Boss Club to collect personal information for the use and benefit of the learning environment. This information is not shared outside of the school/district or with any third parties except those needed for the provision of the service as outlined in this policy. Students of any age cannot share their profiles publicly outside of their classroom or school.
Boss Club collects this limited personal information in order to create logins for students to access the curriculum. Licensees may opt to provide fictitious names and email addresses for added privacy.
Licensees and Students can record audio and/or video recordings and upload/attach these recordings to the Boss Club platform. None of this information is shared with any third parties without proper consent.
For the purpose of improving and enhancing its service, Boss Club collects and analyzes data on how the system is used in the aggregate (how groups of people use Boss Club). As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We also use tracking technologies from third party service providers to gather information regarding the date and time of visits and the information interacted with. We may link this automatically collected data to personally identifiable information. We do not share this information with third parties.
Information on individual usage of the system, including but not limited to individual IP addresses, may be analyzed on a case-specific basis to resolve a technical difficulty or to assist in resolving or investigating any misuse of the service. Such individual usage information may be furnished to the Licensee if the Licensee requests such information, to assist in the investigation of fraudulent, abusive, or criminal activity or any other use of Boss Club that violates your Licensee's rules or policies.
These technologies are used to administer the site, track users’ movements for internal / teacher / district administrator reporting, analyze trends, provide customer support, to store authentication information, and to inform site enhancements. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.
Parents have the right to refuse the use of the site for their child. Parents can access their child’s information and request to have it deleted by contacting their Licensee.
We will retain Student information for as long as the account is active or archived, or as needed to provide services. We will retain and use the information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
We will retain your personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and to comply with our legal obligations. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost or accessed in an unauthorized manner, including being altered or disclosed. These measures include requiring our service providers to comply with appropriate security measures as necessary for us to meet our security obligations to you.
We have put in place procedures to handle security incidents, including a process for making notifications to you or a data breach as required by law.
